Saudi Arabia’s public prosecution issued instructions to summon for interrogation a tweeter who posted indecent content on his twitter account, local media reported.
The public prosecutor instructed the Anti-Cyber Crime Department to identify the account’s owner and file a criminal case against him to be brought to justice.
The suspect published an indecent advertisement that contradicts public decency and morals, a practice that is considered as a punishable crime in accordance with the anti-cybercrime law.
Public morals
The move is part of the kingdom’s efforts to combat cyber-crimes and control everything that violates public morals through the Anti-Cyber Crime Department, which follows up and monitors all kinds of materials and content published on websites.
The kingdom has an e-service provided by the Public Security Department through (Absher) system to enable community members to report cybercrimes of various types.
