The Ministry of Interior announced the new measures on Tuesday in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. Who Can Accompany Highly Skilled Workers?
Under the new Saudi family visa arrangements, eligible highly skilled workers who are heads of households can bring certain family members to Saudi Arabia.
Eligible Family Members
- Spouse
- Sons under 25 years old
- Unmarried daughters
The measure provides eligible workers with greater flexibility to arrange the entry of their immediate family members while completing their employment-related visa procedures.
Family Visas Can Be Issued During Employment Visa Processing
Eligible family members can receive their entry visas at the same time that the highly skilled worker completes the employment visa procedures.
Applicants must still meet all applicable conditions and submit the required documents before the family visas can be issued. The new arrangement means eligible workers may begin the process for their family members without necessarily waiting for the completion of every stage of their own employment visa procedures.
Residence Permits After Arrival in Saudi Arabia
Once eligible family members arrive in Saudi Arabia, their residence permit procedures can be completed within the Kingdom.
The residence permits will be issued and processed in accordance with the applicable Saudi laws and regulations. This allows eligible highly skilled workers and their families to complete the necessary residency formalities after entering the country.
