Successful Drug Smuggling Attempt Thwarted At Al-Batha Crossing: 49.598 KGs Of Methamphetamine Seized
Category: Crime News

In a significant operation, officials from the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority at the Al-Batha border crossing have successfully prevented a drug smuggling attempt, seizing 49.598 kilograms of methamphetamine, commonly known as shabu. The illicit substances were concealed within a vehicle attempting to enter Saudi Arabia through the port.

During routine inspections at the port, the authorities uncovered the crude form of shabu hidden within one of the incoming vehicles. Subsequently, the individual intended to receive the confiscated drugs within the Kingdom was promptly arrested.

Emphasizing their commitment to enhancing customs control over Saudi imports and exports, the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority is actively collaborating with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to thwart smuggling attempts. This collaborative effort aims to bolster societal security and shield the nation from the detrimental impact of such illegal activities.

The authority urges the public to play an essential role in combating smuggling by reporting any suspicious activities. Individuals are encouraged to contact the dedicated security reports number (1910), the international number (00966114208417), or send information via email ([email protected]).
