Saudi Arabia's General Traffic Department (Moroor) issues a stern reminder to drivers: "Turn off your vehicle before leaving." The official page on the "X" social media platform highlighted the traffic violation of leaving a car running with an open door.
According to Moroor, the fine for leaving a vehicle unlocked and in running mode ranges between 100 and 150 riyals.
In a recent announcement, the General Traffic Department disclosed the penalties for another safety concern. Leaving children unattended in a car, particularly those under 10 years old, incurs fines ranging from 300 to 500 riyals. Emphasizing child safety, authorities advise car owners to use safety seats for young passengers.
Moroor underscores the potential dangers, emphasizing that even a brief period of leaving a child alone in a car poses risks to their safety and could lead to serious consequences.
This initiative aligns with the administration's ongoing efforts to promote awareness, echoing previous reminders about motorcycle safety practices, including helmet use and adherence to designated tracks.
