Saudi police have taken six women into custody after a video depicting them engaged in a physical altercation at a coffee shop in Hail, northwestern Saudi Arabia, went viral on social media.
The incident, which occurred inside a Starbucks café, shows the women exchanging blows and kicks while onlookers watch in disbelief. Saudi authorities have initiated legal proceedings in response to this incident, although specific details have not been disclosed.
This event is part of a series of recent arrests related to various instances of violence and law-breaking in Saudi Arabia. Earlier this month, ten Yemeni expatriates were arrested in Riyadh following a mass brawl that resulted in two individuals sustaining injuries. Knives were reportedly used in the altercation due to an undisclosed dispute among the individuals.
In another incident, arrests were made in connection with a car collision and shooting in Al Kharj governorate, southeast of the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The altercation, arising from an unspecified disagreement, led to two fatalities and two injuries.
Additionally, in October, police in Riyadh reported the killing of one man and the injury of another following a robbery where SR1 million was stolen from a money transfer vehicle.
