Saudi Jailed For Impersonating Dead Kuwaiti
Category: Crime News

Kuwait’s Criminal Court handed down a seven-year jail term to a Saudi man for forging official documents and impersonating a deceased Kuwaiti man that enabled him to inappropriately seize 270,000 dinars of state funds, local media reported.

The court found the Saudi defendant guilty of forging the Kuwaiti nationality by impersonating the deceased Kuwait man.

The convict added his name to the deceased’s official file and was able to benefit 270,000 dinars as a government employee, by forging documents on the grounds of his ‘forged’ nationality document.

Jail term

The court also fined him double the amount he earned unlawfully and ordered his dismissal from his job. He will also be deported from the country and barred from entering again after serving his jail term.

The Public Prosecution charged the convict with seizing state funds using forged documents.

The prosecution said the accused took advantage of the forged nationality and applied for work in government agencies as a Kuwaiti, despite fully knowing he was a Saudi born of Saudi parents.

Moreover, he was also charged with forging academic certificate to get job and a driving licence.
