Saudi Arabia Executes 5 Expats For Fatal Attack: Latest Updates
Category: Crime News

Saudi authorities have carried out the execution of five expatriates following their conviction for a deadly assault on a company premises, resulting in the tragic death of a security guard.

The perpetrators, all Pakistani nationals, perpetrated a violent raid on the private sector establishment, overpowering two guards and fatally assaulting a Bangladeshi security personnel, as confirmed by the Saudi Interior Ministry.

Following thorough investigations, the accused were brought before a competent court, which subsequently pronounced them guilty and sentenced them to death. The verdict underwent rigorous scrutiny through appeals and supreme court procedures, ultimately receiving royal approval, thereby culminating in their execution in Mecca on Tuesday.

Saudi Arabia reserves the death penalty for individuals involved in heinous crimes including murder, acts of terror, drug trafficking, and smuggling.

Earlier this year in January, Saudi authorities executed four Ethiopian expatriates convicted of the murder of a Sudanese national. The brutal assault involved the perpetrators taking turns to bludgeon and stab the victim after immobilizing him, according to the Interior Ministry.

In a separate incident in December, two Bangladeshi expatriates faced execution in Saudi Arabia following their final court conviction for the murder of an Indian national, triggered by a financial dispute. The perpetrators lured the victim into a secluded area, strangled him, and administered fatal doses of insecticide, as detailed by official reports.
