There have been 25 people arrested in Saudi Arabia for causing chaos in a public park in Hafr Al Batin governorate in the Eastern Province, according to the public prosecution.
Several people harassed pedestrians, obstructed traffic, and attacked official vehicles at the park in Hafr Al Batin, Saudi media reported, citing a public prosecution source.
In connection with the incident, 25 people, including 19 Saudis and six foreign residents, were questioned.
When security vehicles were doing their job in handling the incident, the suspects "deliberately" stirred chaos and threw stones at them.
"They are in custody pending their referral to the competent court," the source said. The incident did not appear to have occurred at a specific time.
The source, however, urged people not to abuse the Saudi National Day, which is observed annually on September 23, and to avoid misconduct, promising that the public prosecution would apply the law firmly against transgressors.
