From Today, Trucks Will Not Be Allowed To Enter Riyadh Without Pre-booking Permission

In collaboration with the concerned authorities, the Saudi Arabian Transport General Authority (TGA) announced the second phase of the program to regulate the entry of trucks into Riyadh, starting today (17th January 2023)

According to the announcement, trucks entering Riyadh city will be required to make advance online appointments starting today. The aim of the decision is

* To organize and regulate the flow of trucks, to reduce congestion at the city entrances during the ban time for entering cities, and to prevent the quantity of trucks at the city entrances.

* Enhance the quality and efficiency of logistics services and reduce their costs by easing the entry of trucks into cities during prohibitions and reducing transportation waiting times.

Prohibition timings covered by the decision for entry of trucks :

1. From Sunday to Thursday (9 AM to 9 PM).

2. On Friday and Saturday (5 PM to 9 PM).

The Transport General Authority in its statement said, the entry of trucks will be through pre-booking appointments at specific and scheduled times, which will contribute to organizing the flow of trucks, preventing their accumulation at the entrances of cities and improving the quality and efficiency of transport in the Kingdom.

According to the authority, the service aims to manage and regulate the flow of trucks in cities by reducing waiting times, reducing traffic congestion, and stopping the chunks of trucks at city entrances.

Additionally, this decision aims to improve the planning and quality of operational services, providing information for decision-making, as well as tracking truck routes.
