First Saudi Male Arrested For Harassing Woman Driver
Category: Crime News

A Saudi national was arrested in the first case of harassment ever since the driving ban on women was lifted on the 24th of June.

Effat University Business College Dean Dr. Samar Khan had filed an electronic complaint against the man who harassed her as she was driving her car on the King Highway in the City of Jeddah.

She filed a second case with the Al-Salam police station, accusing the suspect, who is in his twenties, of endangering her life along with her family.

Dr. Khan decided later to drop her case against the man, who apologised to her, considering the situation of his family.

The police had identified the suspect along with his car and arrested him within a few hours to face charges.

Dr. Khan asked him to apologise and regret his act, urging him to respect women, whether driving in the street or anywhere else. She urged all women who face similar cases of harassment to file complaints with the police.
