In Riyadh's Al-Shifa neighborhood, authorities uncovered a hub of commercial deceit as they raided a warehouse posing as a legitimate business. Over 360,000 illicit products destined for unsuspecting consumers were confiscated, exposing a network of fraudulent activities. The facility, masquerading as a legitimate operation, was actually a front for repackaging coffee and nut products, deceiving consumers by falsifying their origins.

The haul from the warehouse included 281,000 bags devoid of origin information, 20,000 bags of coffee, and 60,000 bags of nuts lacking essential commercial details such as specifications and expiry dates. Additionally, authorities discovered 50 empty coffee bags bearing reputable brands, alongside stickers and approximately 13 bags, each containing 25 kilograms of untraceable coffee and nuts.

Ministry of Commerce inspectors, in collaboration with officials from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, Civil Defense, and Al-Shifa Municipality, orchestrated the raids. The facility, concealed within the confines of car maintenance workshops, operated clandestinely, with workers entering after 8:00 pm and vacating before dawn, signaling a deliberate attempt to evade scrutiny.

Caught in the act, workers were found repackaging foodstuffs of dubious origin, manipulating packaging labels to deceive consumers. The Ministry of Commerce has summoned the facility's operators to face punitive measures under the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law and the Commercial Data Law, reflecting the gravity of their transgressions.

The violations unearthed at the warehouse ranged from operating without a commercial license to flagrant breaches of hygiene protocols, including the use of spoiled oils and rusty utensils, highlighting the egregious nature of the deception perpetrated on unsuspecting consumers.
