A Bahraini pilgrim was killed and his wife injured in a road accident in Jeddah yesterday.
They were in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. Consul General to Jeddah Ebrahim Al Meslimani said that the victim and his wife were walking on their way to have breakfast, when a speeding car mounted the pavement and hit them after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
They were rushed to hospital, but the man was pronounced dead. The woman’s condition is said to be stable. The Consulate General is coordinating with Saudi authorities and providing all facilities to repatriate the body.
