ZATCA Prohibits The Sale Of Alcohol In Duty-free Shops In The Kingdom

According to the rules and requirements for establishing duty-free shops, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) in Saudi Arabia does not permit alcohol to be sold in duty-free shops.
ZATCA said alcohol is one of the substances that cannot be sold in duty-free markets of the Kingdom in response to an inquiry.
As the Zakat, Tax and Customs authority explained, this is in accordance with the rules and regulations of free markets. Travelers can purchase goods and products that are allowed to be traded in Saudi Arabia through this program.
In the official gazette, the details of these rules were published, which will take effect in 30 days.
