A Yemeni national was arrested for sexually harassing a girl in the Al-Jouf region of northern Saudi Arabia. The arrest was made during routine patrols conducted by security forces in cooperation with the General Department for Community Security and Combating Human Trafficking Crimes.

Legal Action and Referral to Public Prosecution

The suspect, identified as Muhannad Sadiq Abadi, has been referred to the Public Prosecution following the completion of necessary legal procedures, according to a statement issued by the Public Security Department.

Ministry’s Continued Crackdown on Immoral Activities

Since its inception on February 13, the General Department for Community Security and Combating Human Trafficking Crimes, operating under the Ministry of Interior, has intensified efforts to curb immoral and illegal behavior. The department, in coordination with regional police units, has launched a wide-scale campaign to address issues like harassment and human trafficking across the Kingdom.

Strict Penalties Under Saudi Anti-Harassment Law

According to the Anti-Harassment Law in Saudi Arabia, individuals found guilty of harassment face up to two years of imprisonment and/or a fine not exceeding SR100,000. If the offense is repeated, or if the victim is a child, a person with special needs, or the crime occurs in a public space, penalties may escalate to a maximum of five years’ imprisonment and a fine of up to SR300,000.
