In a captivating video shared on social media, a massive crocodile was observed navigating a bustling motorway in Saudi Arabia, specifically in the enchanting region of Al Qatif. This awe-inspiring encounter left onlookers astonished as the reptile, suspected to have escaped from a local animal park, boldly crawled among the flow of cars on the road.

As the crocodile steadily made its way to the other side of the road, responsible motorists skillfully avoided any contact with the intriguing creature. Ultimately, the video showcases a mysterious individual carefully guiding the reptile with a rope.

Please note that the video's authenticity remains unverified, and Saudi authorities have not issued an official statement regarding this extraordinary event.

The Saudi Arabian environmental system strictly prohibits the trade, possession, and public display of endangered animals. Violations of these regulations are met with severe penalties, including up to 10 years of imprisonment and a substantial maximum fine of SR30 million.

In recent months, several incidents involving wild animals have made headlines in the kingdom. In May, the Saudi environmental police successfully restrained a lion found roaming freely in the capital city of Riyadh. The Special Forces for Environmental Security (SFES) took charge of the situation, ensuring the lion's safety and transferring it to a specialized agency.

Additionally, Saudi security agencies and wildlife inspectors conducted a raid on an establishment that was illegally housing and exhibiting various wild animals, including a lion and a tiger. The Saudi National Centre for Wildlife (NCW) uncovered this facility in the Asir region of south-western Saudi Arabia.

Last March, security agencies in the kingdom seized a cheetah, a wolf, and a large snake from a private citizen. Furthermore, Saudi authorities took control of a fox that was spotted in a residential area in the eastern part of the kingdom. After assessing its health and providing proper care, the animal was released into its natural habitat to maintain the delicate environmental balance.

It is crucial to note that the illegal trade of wild animals, particularly predators, has proliferated through social media platforms where they are illicitly advertised.
