Through the Absher account one can transfer the ownership of one’s car in Saudi Arabia. Following are the steps of different stages of vehicle ownership transfer through Absher.
Steps of the Vehicle transfer
1. Through SADAD buyer pays SR 150 car transfer fee.
2. Request is created by the seller to sale the vehicle.
3.Car ownership transfer request can be accept or rejected by the buyer.
4. If buyer is interested in vehicle he transfers money to the Absher bank account.
5. The sellers delivers the vehicle.
6.The buyer collects Istimara from the Muroor.
Precondition required for car ownership transfer
• Following are the requirements to transfer car ownership in saudi arabia while using the absher platform.
• Both buyer and seller must have an Absher account.
• Date of Birth and Iqama number of the buyer is mandatory
• Vehicle sequence number - Vehicle Sequence Number of your car. It is a 10 digits number written on the face of your vehicle registration card.
If the sequence number of 8 or 9 digits is written on your Istimara, you can add Zero, in the beginning, to make it 10.
• IBAN Number of the bank account of the buyer.
• IBAN Number of the bank account of the seller.
• The price of the vehicle(ranging from SR5000 to Sr150000).
• SR 150+SR230=SR 380 car transfer fee in KSA.
• Valid Fahas
• Comprehensive insurance or third party.
How to Pay Car transfer fee in KSA
The total fee for the transfer of car ownership in saudi Arabia is SR 380 out of which SR 150 is paid through SADAD.The rest SR 230 will be paid by the buyer and which will be added to the cost of the vehicle.
To pay car transfer fee in KSA using Al Rajhi Bank;
• Through play store download the application.
• Login to your internet banking account.
• Click on the three dots on the left upper corner.
• Select “payments”
• Press the Button”Government payments”
Click on the next page: select the following:
Services: Motor Vehicle
Application Type: Transfer Owner
Transaction Type: Payment
Current Owner ID :Iqama Number of the current Owner.
Vehicle Sequence Number:Vehicle Sequence Number.
New Owner ID: Iqama Number of the new corner
Request to Transfer vehicle ownership
Next to step to transfer car ownership online in saudi Arabia the seller need to create a request to sell his vehicle through Absher.
• First of all Login to you Absher account https://www.absher.sa/
• Select on the “services” tab under vehicles.
• Click on “vehicle Ownership Transfer” from the online services.
• Scroll Down and select “ seller” from the options.
On the next page , you need to;
• Select the car to transfer ownership.
• Enter the price of the car Vehicle.
• Enter the buyers Iqama Number.
• Choose Calender Type: Gregorian.
• Select the buyer’s date of birth.
• Enter the IBAN of the account number of the seller. The car sale proceeds will be transferred to this account.
• Select the region where the vehicle is to be sale.
You need to accept the terms and conditions on the next page of creating a request to transfer car ownership in Saudi Arabia online using the Absher Account.
The Buyer will have only one hour to accept or reject the request. In order to do that
• First of all Login to you Absher account https://www.absher.sa/
• Select on the “services” tab under vehicles.
• Click on “vehicle Ownership Transfer” from the online services.
• Scroll Down and select “ Buyer” from the options.
In the next step:
• Will have option Accept or Reject the car transfer request
• Enter the IBAN number of the buyer’s bank account.The amount will be credited to this account in case deal is cancelled.
• Select the region where the vehicle is to be sold.
Agree to the terms and conditions to transfer car ownership in saudi Arabia online using the Absher account.
The Absher system will display a bank account number to make the payment.This is the bank account of Absher. The Funds will not be released to the seller at this point in time.
The buyer has only 72 hours to make the payments.
The payment will not be processed during non –banking hours.
The car transfer Fee of SR 230 is already added to the price
Make the payment:
The buyer needs to make the payment to the designated bank account within 72 hours of accepting the request to transfer car ownership in Saudi Arabia online using the Absher acccount.
The payment can not be processed during non –banking hours.
First name of the beneficiary:Account.
Lastname of the beneficiary:Dhamen.
Delivery of the vehicle
After the successful transfer of funds, the buyer and the seller will wait for an SMS from Absher.
The seller will log in to his Absher Account and deliver the vehicle to the buyer. The buyer will receive an OTP in the SMS which the seller has to enter into his Absher account to complete te delivery.
• Make sure you give the OTP to the seller only after receiving the delivery of the vehicle. After the delivery, the payment will be released to the seller from the Absher accountIn order to collect Istimara and transferring the car ownership.
That’s it, you have successflly completed the online process to car ownership in Saudi Arabia through the Absher acount.
Colelction of Istamara
• Take a Muroor apointment with the purpose.
• Visit the traffic Police station with your Iqama.
• Collect the New Istamara.
Transfer of car ownership from bank
In case you have leased a car from the bank to your name in KSA, you can transfer the ownership following this procedure.
• Pay off all the dues to the bank.
• Submit all the above-mentioned required documents for the transfer of car ownership to the bank.
• Pay the transfer fee i.e. around SR 525 to the bank.
• Get the Istimarawithin 2 weeks of submitting the request from the same bank.
Important Points To Be Kept In Mind
• A Saudi can own as many cars as he wants,however, an expatriate in Saudi Arabia can own only 2 cars at a time.
• In order to transfer the car ownership to your son, you will have to follow the same procedcure as explained above.
• A wife has authority to drive the husband’s car in KSA without transferring the title. But one need to make sure to register her as an additional driver while taking the insurance.
