Umrah visas have been extended from one to three months for all Umrah performers, according to Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah.At the conclusion of Dr. Al-Rabiah's two-day visit to Tashkent, Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Saudi minister.
Minister Mirziyoyev conveyed to President Mirziyoyev and the Uzbek government and people the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.
During their visit, they wished prosperity to Uzbekistan and emphasized that the visit is an extension of distinguished historical relations between the two countries, resulting in several cooperation agreements.
As a result of the accords, the leadership was able to serve Islam and Muslims by facilitating procedures for pilgrims and Umrah performers.
According to the minister, approximately 12,000 Uzbek pilgrims participated in the recent Hajj season after the COVID-19 pandemic eased.
During the past two months, more than 36,000 people from Uzbekistan performed Umrah, the majority of whom managed to visit Madinah and pray at Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah and visit religious and historical sites there.
In the course of Al-Rabiah's visit, several meetings were held with various officials to discuss ways of enhancing cooperation between the two nations and developing distinguished ties.
The main focus of the discussion was automating all services and programs offered electronically through Nusuk and issuing visit and Umrah visas quickly.
The minister met with several Uzbek officials as part of boosting cooperation between the two countries in various fields and stressing the deep-rooted bilateral relations.
Talks during the visit also reviewed means to enhance strategic bilateral cooperation between the two sides to enhance the quality of services provided to Uzbek Umrah performers.
This is in addition to going over the possibility of increasing the activities of joint committees in several aspects, including increasing the number of flights between the two countries.
