In a heartbreaking incident, two students from Umm Al-Qura University lost their lives while four others sustained injuries in a traffic accident in Makkah. The accident, which occurred on Monday afternoon amidst rainfall, involved a minibus carrying the students. Tragically, the vehicle swerved and collided with a lighting pole on the traffic island along the Fourth Ring Road.
Both students succumbed to their injuries, while the driver of the minibus also suffered harm. Prompt response from security officials and Saudi Red Crescent Authority teams ensured swift transportation of the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment. The university branch in Al-Zahir neighborhood mourns the loss of its students involved in this unfortunate incident.
Authorities, including the Saudi Traffic Directorate, have completed all necessary legal procedures following the accident. Meanwhile, Umm Al-Qura University's president and staff extend heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased students and offer prayers for the swift recovery of the injured.
