Private and international schools affiliated with the Saudi Ministry of Education have been given the authority to reduce class hours and adjust the start time of school days.

As part of its efforts to improve the educational sector and facilitate the functioning of private and international schools, the Ministry made the decision.

Private schools and international schools are allowed to determine the duration of class hours with the Ministry's approval.

In elementary and intermediate schools, class hours should not be less than 35 minutes, and in secondary schools, 40 minutes.

School authorities can decide whether to start school half an hour earlier or one hour later than the approved standard time.

These schools can take advantage of the enrichment programs approved by the Ministry, according to the daily and weekly class hours in public schools.

In order to implement the decisions, those schools should notify the Education Department or their international education offices.

At the beginning of the new academic year, the school day timing should be announced two weeks before the semester begins or at the time of students' registration.
