The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) has recently launched an initiative to install Automated External Defibrillators (AED) in the mosques of the Riyadh region, starting with the Mamur Mosque in Qurtubah district. This move aims to preserve the lives of people by providing AED devices in public areas, enabling rapid response during cardiac arrest and breathing emergencies.
Scientific studies have shown that quick response time, coupled with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the use of AED devices, are crucial in increasing the chances of survival in such emergencies. To support this initiative, SRCA has organized specialized CPR and AED training courses for the public.
This initiative is part of SRCA's wider efforts to equip public areas with AED devices to enable the general public to act as first responders in emergency situations. The authority has already placed AED devices in the Two Holy Mosques, Holy Sites, and various schools across the region.
