Saudi Patient Goes Missing In Turkey
Category: Information

A Saudi man went missing at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul during a leisure trip to Turkey along with family members, his relatives said.

Ahmad Al-Harbi said his 28-year-old brother Salem suffered from psychological conditions.

“Salem was on holiday with his mother and sisters when he felt extremely tired during the trip. My family contacted the Saudi Embassy to book a return flight early. The earliest flight had only four vacant seats, but there were eight members of my family on the trip,” said Al-Harbi.

He said his brother was hospitalized for 14 hours in the airport hospital because he became very tired and almost fainted.

“My family waited for his recovery. After he recovered, he came to my mother and told her to wait for him outside. And since that moment, he was nowhere to be found. We saw surveillance footage that showed Salem being escorted by two security guards at the airport. They took him to the metro and got him on it. He disappeared afterward,” said Al-Harbi.

He added that his brother had no paperwork or identification on him. All of his travel documents were with his mother.

He also said his brother was not able to complete his university studies because of his psychological condition. There are family members in Turkey following up with the embassy in their efforts to find Salem, Al-Harbi added.
