Saudi King Hopes Afghan Ceasefire Reached During Eid Will Be Extended

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman expressed hope that the truce reached by the Afghan government and Taliban movement during the Eid Al-Fitr days would be extended for a longer period, Saudi Press Agency quoted a statement from the Royal Court as saying on Wednesday night.
King Salman added: “The Afghan people, who have suffered greatly from the wars, are looking forward along with the Muslim World to forget the past and turn a new page based on forgiveness, reconciliation, rejecting violence and protecting the lives of innocent people on the basis of the teachings of Islam."
