Saudi authorities have shut down 130 Jeddah shops over the past 72 hours for breaking COVID-19 protocols, Saudi media reported.

Undersecretary for Sub-Municipalities, Eng. Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al Zahrani, said these stores have a variety of activities, including 73 workshops that were closed for violating the regulations.

Al Zahrani added that the sub-municipalities were assigned to ensure compliance with municipal requirements and preventive protocols issued by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, noting that the tours and monitoring tasks are ongoing and include all commercial activities around the clock.

Al Zahrani emphasized the keenness of the Jeddah Municipality on implementing regulations and precautionary measures to stem the spread of the pandemic.

Al Zahrani thanked the residents of Jeddah for their cooperation in reporting municipal violations through the emergency number and application “Baladi 940”, to contribute to improving the services provided to them and maintain public health.
