Saudi Arabia’s relentless efforts to attract world-class foreign educational companies and premier schools have started paying rich dividends in boosting the private-public education sector and further enhancing the competitiveness of the educational landscape. Over the past 14 months, these initiatives have culminated in the successful attraction of 13 foreign educational companies.

Government-Led Initiatives Drive Success

The success of these efforts has been bolstered by the recent formulation of an ambitious program designed to facilitate the attraction of top-tier foreign companies and schools. Three key Saudi government agencies—the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Investment, and the Royal Commission for Riyadh City—are collaboratively working on this program, according to Abdulaziz Al-Fahd, chairman of the National Committee for Training and Private Education at the Federation of Saudi Chambers.

Collaboration and Global Expertise

In an interview with Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper, Al-Fahd emphasized that the integrated efforts of these government agencies are essential for leveraging the global expertise of these companies and schools. This collaboration aims to raise the level of competition within the private education sector and enhance local school programs.

Investment Opportunities in the Education Sector

Al-Fahd noted that Saudi Arabia is actively pursuing investments across various sectors, with a particular focus on education. Government agencies have taken steps to remove obstacles, thereby enabling the Kingdom to benefit from international expertise by bringing in educational and administrative staff from these foreign entities.

Riyadh's Growing Network of International Schools

Riyadh, the Saudi capital, has recently seen the establishment of eight international schools, including Beach Hall School, RGS International School, King’s College, One World International, Downe House, Aldenham, SEK International, and Packwood School. These schools are engaging with local institutions to share ideas and develop study programs that elevate competitiveness.

The education sector in Saudi Arabia offers diverse investment opportunities, including early childhood education, public education, higher education, educational technologies, specialized training, and equipment and contracting for the education sector.
