Introduction to the New Driving School Project
The Saudi Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with the National Center for Privatization, has announced the initiation of the Expression of Interest (EOI) phase for a new project aimed at developing driving schools across Saudi Arabia. This project will be managed and operated by the private sector under a 10-year contract, including an 18-month preparation and equipment phase.
Project Objectives and Scope
The primary goal of the project is to enhance the performance and sustainability of driving schools in Saudi Arabia. It involves monitoring and managing driver testing in over 69 driving schools nationwide to ensure high standards of training and testing.
Partnership with the Private Sector
The project will be executed in partnership with the private sector, focusing on operating and managing driving tests for both citizens and residents. This partnership aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of driving school operations.
Standards and Performance Measurement
Under the project, driving schools will be monitored according to specific standards set to measure their performance. Continuous work plans will be implemented to align with performance indicators established by the General Traffic Department of the Public Security.
Expression of Interest Submission Details
Interested parties are invited to review the EOI request document available on the National Center for Privatization website. The submission deadline for the EOI is set for August 25, at 3 p.m.
Next Steps and Implementation
Following the EOI phase, the project will proceed with the selection of suitable private sector partners who will be responsible for managing and operating the driving schools. This initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the improvement of driving education and testing standards in Saudi Arabia.
