Saudi Arabia is aiming for 100% Saudization in Customs clearance sector, This decision is likely to create 2,000 jobs for Saudi Nationals and harmonize the Saudization policy in the sector.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and Saudi Customs signed a memorandum of cooperation for implementing the decision to localize the custom clearance jobs and to develop national workforce and boost its competitiveness.
- The memorandum aims to provide incentives for the custom clearance sector to support the entity and job seekers in the sector, by providing the qualification and training for Saudi nationals who wish to work in the customs clearance sector.
- Earlier, Saudi Arabia has decided to Saudize 28 professions in the air transport sector. These professions includes pilot, flight attendant, air traffic controller, supervisor, flight yard coordinator, ground hailing services, cargo handling, luggage and passengers, flight catering etc.
- Saudization is officially known as Nitaqat, In this policy the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Saudi companies and enterprises are instructed to hire locals instead of expat.
