New Packages for Domestic Services
Saudi labour authorities have launched domestic worker service packages on an hourly, weekly, or monthly basis to provide multiple choices that suit different household needs.
These packages are available via Musaned, the platform under the Ministry of Human Resources responsible for managing house labour affairs in the kingdom, reported by the news portal Akhbar24.
Ongoing Development of the Recruitment Sector
The ministry continues to enhance the recruitment sector by offering diversified services to improve the customer experience.
Regulations for Electronic Wage Transfers
In June, authorities announced new rules for the electronic transfer of wages for domestic workers. Effective January 1, employers with four or more domestic workers are required to transfer wages to their electronic wallets.
Since July 1, employers of new domestic workers are obligated to deposit wages into e-wallets. These transfers must comply with banks accredited by the Ministry of Human Resources.
Roles Covered under Domestic Work Regulations
Domestic workers in Saudi Arabia encompass a wide range of roles, including housekeepers, drivers, cleaners, cooks, guards, tutors, and live-in nurses.
Efforts to Regulate the Domestic Labour Market
The Ministry of Human Resources established Musaned to inform customers about their rights, duties, and related services. The platform offers services such as visa issuance, recruitment requests, and managing the contractual relationship between employers and workers.
