Saudi customs authorities have managed to thwart an attempt to smuggle more than 2.3 million fenethylline pills into the Kingdom.

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at Al-Haditha explained that during the inspection process, 2,302,325 banned pills were found hidden in a technical way into the cavity of a truck coming to the Kingdom through Haditha port.

ZATCA confirmed that it was tightening customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports. It reiterated the constant work to unify and enhance efforts with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) to contribute to the effectiveness of the methodology used between the two sides to combat narcotics smuggling in all its forms and types.

The Authority has called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling and protecting the society and national economy by contacting its designated number for security reports (1910), e-mail (1910@zatca.gov.sa), or by the international number (00966114208417).

The Authority will receive reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Common Customs Law confidentially, with a financial reward given to the reporter if the provided information proved to be correct.
