According to a Saudi newspaper, 6.4 million illegal foreigners have been arrested in Saudi Arabia in the past five years as the kingdom cracks down on violators of its residency, labor and border laws.

Among the arrested were 4.7 million violators of the Saudi residency law, 823,715 violators of the border security system, and 895,448 violators of labour regulations, Okaz said.

According to the government, 781,186 illegal immigrants were arrested nationwide last year as part of the "A Nation Without A Violator" campaign.

Saudi Arabia has deported 2.1 million illegals since the campaign began five years ago.

According to the report, there were 560,104 deportees last year.

Those who assist infiltrators in entering the kingdom, providing them with transportation, shelter, or any other sort of assistance have been warned repeatedly by Saudi authorities that they could face a maximum 15-year prison sentence, as well as a fine of up to SR1 million, confiscation of their transport and accommodation means, as well as naming and shame.
