The Saudi authorities have said expatriates who need an alternative residence permit for a lost one need to pay SR500 if the remaining stay period is less than one year.
Other procedures, according to the Saudi General Directorate of Passports, include notifying authorities when a residence permit is lost and presenting a letter explaining the cause and location of the loss from the employer or family head.
Additionally, the expatriate must present a valid passport and a copy of the lost residence permit, if available, along with a loss form provided by the General Authority of Passports.
When the lost IQAMA has less than one year left, the residence fee of SR500 for one year is paid via the Sadad system.
The measures also include a fine of SR1,000 for the loss of the permit.
