According to state media, Saudi authorities require passengers traveling to and from the Kingdom to declare cash and valuable items worth more than SR60,000.

It is important for passengers to inform the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCAT) if they are carrying in their luggage sums or items worth more than SR60,000.

In order to comply with ZATCA requirements, travellers must disclose the items and fill out the declaration form and submit it electronically via the application or ZATCA's website.

Money, jewellery, precious metals, or equivalents in foreign currencies worth SR60,000 or more must be declared.

ZATCA said that the declaration is mandatory to protect passengers from being charged with the crime of money laundering, smuggling, or evading the payment of legal fees and taxes.
