Online Celebrity Fined SR100,000 In Saudi Arabia For Anti-Family Remarks
Category: Crime News

A prominent Saudi online celebrity, allegedly identified as Asma Al Sayari, has been fined SR100,000 and had her license revoked by the General Authority of Media Regulation. The influencer faced penalties for using inappropriate phrases that were deemed harmful to family values in a Snapchat video.

While the regulator did not explicitly name the celebrity, reports suggest that Asma Al Sayari, known for her TikTok presence with 1.8 million followers, is the subject of the fine. In a recent video, she advised men on behavior during outings with their fiancées, touching on topics like excessive jealousy and ordering specific meals.

This move by Saudi authorities reflects their commitment to addressing cyber offenses. The General Commission for Audiovisual Media (GCAM) has previously summoned individuals for content deemed immoral or offensive. Violations under the kingdom's anti-cyber crime law can lead to severe penalties, including imprisonment and substantial fines.
