Saudi Customs announced that travelers personal belongings whose worth is less than 3,000 Saudi Riyals would be exempted from custom duties, however, they need to pay 15% VAT (Valued Added Tax) on imported goods, this came in response to an inquiry on the official Saudi Customs Twitter account.

Personal shipments worth less than 1,000 SR will be exempted from Custom duties, this limit includes the value of goods and freight charges, reveals the Customs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

- Personal belongings of Saudi students, who are studying under the Foreign Scholarship Program, will be exempted from custom duties at the end of their studies or at the end of work abroad after submitting related documents of it.

- Regarding, The import of a car from UAE, Saudi Customs said that the last manufacturing year allowed to enter the Kingdom is 2016, given that it confirms to Saudi specifications and standards and the fuel economy standard, this came in response to a citizen's question.

- Customs duty for the vehicle is 5% of the vehicle's value, in addition to 15% VAT. There will also be shipping fees, customs fees and other fees, until the start of the application of the Unified Electronic Services Law among the Gulf Cooperation Council sates, As per the report of Saudi Gazette

- Saudi Customs also clarified that the regular period for the foreign vehicle to remain at the entry port in 3 months, upon exceeding this period a fine of 20 Saudi Riyals is imposed for each day of delay, not exceeding 10% of the cost of the vehicle.
