The Saudi Arabian Nationality System has been amended.
The Saudi Arabian Nationality System has been amended to grant the prime minister the authority to give citizenship under Article 8.
In the Article 8 of the amendment, the phrase "by decision of the Minister of Interior" has been replaced with "by order of the Prime Minister based on the Minister of Interior's proposal
Saudi citizenship may be granted to a person born in the Kingdom to a foreign father and a Saudi mother, provided certain conditions are met.
As part of the requirement, he must be a permanent resident of the Kingdom when he reaches legal age, be of good conduct and sound character, not have been convicted of a crime or imprisoned for more than six months for an indecent act, and be fluent in Arabic.
