NCM Predicts Milder Winter In Saudi Arabia Compared To Previous Years
Category: Weather

Hussein Al-Qahtani, spokesman for the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), stated that Saudi Arabia will experience cold winter conditions, but temperatures will not drop as significantly as in previous years.

Expected Temperature Trends This Winter

During an appearance on the "120 Program" on Al-Ekhbariya channel, Al-Qahtani said that temperatures will decrease, but they will remain higher than the extreme lows recorded in past winters. He added that the NCM will release its official winter climate report soon, providing detailed insights into the season’s meteorological features.

Clarifying Misconceptions About Winter Forecasts

The Regional Climate Change Center, operating under the NCM, issued a statement last month to correct public misconceptions about the upcoming winter season. It dismissed reports suggesting that the La Niña phenomenon would bring a harsh, extended winter to the Kingdom, labeling these reports as inaccurate.

Forecast: Winter to be Around Normal Average

According to the NCM’s predictions, the upcoming winter season will be close to the normal average, with only a slight temperature increase of up to one degree Celsius in some regions. The center emphasized the importance of obtaining weather information from official sources and warned against relying on individual opinions that could lead to confusion.

Encouraging Trust in Official Sources

As part of its communication strategy, the NCM urged the public to verify weather updates and forecasts only through official channels, ensuring accurate and reliable information about climate developments across the Kingdom.
