The Muslim World League (MWL) has launched a series of relief and development projects in Egypt under the supervision of the country’s government. 

The projects include the establishment of six water purification plants, financial allocations for orphans, the distribution of Ramadan hampers and the provision of student accommodation.

The campaign also cared for the neediest categories from both Egyptian and Syrian nationalities, as well as underprivileged students and their families.

A sum of SR9.7 million ($2.6 million) will benefit 13,776 Egyptian orphans in 15 governorates, and SR252,050 are allocated for 198 Syrian orphans. 

In addition, 3,800 Ramadan hampers will benefit 15,200 Egyptians in 11 governorates, and 1,900 hampers will benefit 7,600 Syrians.

The MWL will also provide 48 apartments for foreign students of Al-Azhar University in four residential compounds in Nasr City.

The league also seeks to promote charitable campaigns by expanding development projects that achieve the objectives of sustainable development.
