Kingdom Bans Importing Pet Fish From Romania

The Saudi authorities have prohibited imports of live pet fish from Romania.
The Ministry of Environment and Water today announced the ban which applies to the species known as ‘Carp Cyprinus’.
The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) had issued an alert warning against Romanian pet fish due to the outbreak of the “Koi Herpesvirus”.
Quarantines director-general Dr. Osama Al-Saleh said that the circular had been sent to concerned parties to take necessary precautions.
