Khaled bin Mohammed Al-Sharif is the newly appointed Saudi ambassador to Cyprus following a royal decree.

Al-Sharif has served in a number of embassies around the world including being the consul general in New York and the charge d'affaires at the Saudi Embassy in Norway.

He has also worked at the Saudi embassies in Washington, Cairo and Italy.

He began his diplomatic career in 1997 when he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Al-Sharif received his bachelor’s degree in law from King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah.

Al-Sharif participated in several international meetings and events including the 63rd General Assembly of the UN. He also chaired the board of directors of the Consuls General Assembly for two terms in New York, US.

The newly appointed Saudi ambassador to Cyprus recently took the oath of office at the Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh before King Salman.

He was sworn in with other ambassadors designated to countries including the US, Cameroon, Austria, the UK, Indonesia and Georgia.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Minister of Interior Prince Abdul Aziz bin Saud, Foreign Minister Ibrahim Al-Assaf, Minister of State, Cabinet Member and Chief of the Royal Court Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Issa.
