In the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah, Saudi Red Crescent volunteers delivered a baby the other day when one of the women worshippers suffered labor pains in the mosque's courtyards.

Saudi Red Crescent Authority Director General Ahmed bin Ali Al-Zahrani stated that a volunteer team attached to the ambulance center on the Al-Haram premises helped the woman deliver her baby safely.

Upon arriving at the scene, the teams found the woman in a critical condition as she was about to give birth, according to Dr. Al-Zahrani.

Her contractions indicated that she was in labor. According to the SRCA team, her water had broken and the baby's head had already emerged.

After strict adherence to protocols in such situations, the team began assisting the woman to give birth. There was a health practitioner present at the site who offered support.

According to Dr. Al-Zahrani, after the baby was delivered successfully, the mother and child were transferred to Bab Jibril Health Center for further checkups.

Due to their specialized medical training, the team was able to deliver the baby safely.

Dr. Al-Zahrani stressed the importance of calling 997 in case of an emergency. Additionally, the ambulance service can be contacted through the Asafny app or Tawakkalna's SOS service. In addition to saving time and effort in reaching the site and providing assistance, the ambulance team will be able to pinpoint the caller's location with high accuracy.
