Get ready for a wetter fall in Saudi Arabia! The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) predicts that most regions of the country will experience rainfall that's 50-60% above average during the upcoming fall season.

Rainy Autumn Ahead: The months of September, October, and November are expected to bring abundant rainfall, especially in regions like Al-Sharqiyah, the Northern Borders, Al-Qassim, Hail, Al-Jouf, Tabuk, Madinah, and parts of Riyadh and Makkah.

Rain Probability: Rainfall chances during fall are projected to be 50% to 60% higher than average. The heaviest rainfall is expected in October and November.

Other Regions: While some regions will experience above-average rainfall, the rest of the Kingdom will see rainfall rates around the average. Jazan and parts of Najran will have about 40% less rainfall than their average in September.

Extreme Rainfall Cases: NCM highlighted that extremely heavy rains may occur but are typically not a part of long-term climate models. Extreme cases can be predicted through short-term forecasts.

Historical Rainfall Data: NCM cited previous instances of severe rainfall in Saudi Arabia. The years 1997 and 2018 witnessed the most instances of heavy rain. While the occurrence of extreme cases has increased since 2007, the number of very extreme cases remains consistent.

Temperature Outlook: Temperatures are expected to rise during the fall season, with a probability of up to 80%. Riyadh and Najran regions might see temperatures around two degrees higher than the average.
