Category: Saudi Arabia

Refund Eligibility for Canceled Hajj Reservations

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has outlined specific cases where domestic pilgrims can receive refunds for canceled Hajj 2025 reservations. These include:

  • Death of the Main Applicant – Refund is available if the registered pilgrim passes away.
  • Death of the Husband – A wife registered as a pilgrim can claim a refund if her husband dies.
  • Traffic Accidents Preventing Hajj Performance – Refunds apply to pilgrims unable to perform Hajj due to serious accidents. Official documentation is required.
  • Victims of Criminal Incidents – If a pilgrim suffers an injury due to a criminal act, they may be eligible for a refund. Hospitalization reports must be submitted.
  • Health-Related Disabilities – Refunds are granted for pilgrims hospitalized or diagnosed with severe health conditions. Medical reports from government hospitals or certified private hospitals are required.

How to Cancel a Hajj Reservation

To process a refund, pilgrims must cancel their reservations via the official website or the Nusuk app before the refund is issued.

Priority in Hajj 2025 Registration

The Ministry has clarified that priority for Hajj 2025 registration is given to those who have not previously performed Hajj. However, exceptions apply to individuals accompanying an eligible pilgrim.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Valid Residency Documents – The national ID or residency permit must be valid until at least the 10th of Dhul Hijjah.
  • Accurate Information – Any incorrect details in the application will result in its rejection.
  • Good Health – Pilgrims must not suffer from acute, contagious, or chronic diseases and must complete meningitis and seasonal flu vaccinations.

Hajj: A Sacred Obligation

Hajj is one of Islam’s five pillars, and every Muslim who is physically and financially capable must undertake the pilgrimage at least once. Last year, 1.8 million pilgrims performed Hajj, including 1.6 million international travelers.
