A total of 135 Indonesians, who comprise the first batch of Umrah performers from abroad, arrived in Medina on Monday, as part of the third phase of the gradual resumption of the Umrah service, local media said.

They were received amid precautionary measures and health protocols put in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Upon their arrival, the Umrah performers were asked to quarantine themselves for three days to ensure their safety in accordance with the measures announced by the Ministry of Haj and Umrah earlier.

The entry of visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque will be organised according to dates approved by the ministry on its Eatmarna App. Then, they will leave for Mecca to perform Umrah rituals.

It is noteworthy that according to the strategic plan drawn up by the authorities concerned, the third phase of the gradual return of Umrah and visits to the Two Holy Mosques allows 20,000 pilgrims, 60,000 worshipers, and 19,500 visitors per day.
