Father of the girl student Fatimah, who was killed by a speeding car in front of a school complex at Al-Hijrah district in Makkah on Monday, expressed his confidence in the police department that it would track down the driver who caused the death of his daughter.
Salem Al-Yezidi, the father, also appealed to the driver in hiding to turn himself in to police and demanded the authorities to open the closed pedestrian bridge which was built for the use of school girls and accused that it was the closure of the bridge that paved the way to Fatimah’s death.
He renewed his demand to prosecute those who permitted his daughter to leave the school building before he could arrive at the school or she call him because any girl who misses the school bus used to remain at the school and communicate with her parents.
Fatimah’s uncle Abdullah Al-Yezidi also held the agency that closed the bridge, which served as a safe crossing for girls, responsible for the accident. He said the bridge remained closed since one and half years despite its importance for the school girls.
Spokesman of the Directorate of Education in Makkah Talal Al-Radadi told Okaz that the legal procedures of the accident are underway.
