The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) in Saudi Arabia clarified that it is possible to renew the iqama for domestic workers 14 months before its expiry.

This response came from Jawazat after one of the beneficiaries inquired, asking, Can iqama be renewed 3 months before its expiry?.

The official Jawazat account on Twitter responded it saying, “You can renew the iqama for domestic workers, if the validity of the identity card is less than 14 months.”

Jawazat also said, "In case of commercial workers, if the validity of the iqama remains for less than 6 months, with work permit and health insurance policy valid, employers can able to renew the iqama.

Earlier, responding to an inquiry, jawazat said an expat resident can travel outside Saudi Arabia after booking through the carrier, with a valid visa and travel document, by sticking to the conditions of entering the destination country.
