Forging electronic signatures, records, and digital certificates is punishable by law, as is using these fraudulent documents.
A person convicted of electronic forgery may face imprisonment for up to five years and a financial penalty of up to SR5 million. Aside from these severe penalties, the Public Prosecution has confirmed that they will also confiscate any devices, systems, or programmes used in the crime.
Once the ruling becomes final, the judgment against the convict will be published at their expense.
Saudi Arabia considers electronic forgery a major crime, and anyone found engaging in such practices will be arrested. Those who engage in electronic forgery are held accountable for their actions by the Public Prosecution, which has stressed its commitment to protecting the integrity of electronic transactions.
