According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD), the official working hours during Ramadan shall not exceed five hours. Throughout the holy month, office hours would start at 10:00 in the morning and end at 3:00 in the afternoon.
As stated by the ministry, the executive regulations for human resources in the civil service stipulate that working hours during Ramadan shouldn't exceed five hours. In addition, ministers and those in similar positions have the authority to alter the starting and ending times of official working hours, not exceeding two hours from the regulation.
In the regulations, it was stipulated that this authority was given to government agencies so that they could determine the start of working hours according to their work requirements and traffic congestion.
According to the executive regulations, the entity that makes such adjustments must inform its employees of the working hours and their starting and ending times before Sha'ban 27, corresponding to March 19.
