Category: Crime News

Saudi Arabian authorities have taken swift action, arresting two individuals involved in a disturbing prank that targeted an expatriate. The incident, captured on video and shared on social media, has sparked outrage and calls for legal measures to be taken.

The Mecca police identified the culprits as a Saudi man and an expatriate, who intentionally offended the expatriate in the video. The footage depicted one of the suspects disguised as a veiled woman, documenting the prank and violating public morals and privacy. The video quickly went viral, drawing widespread attention and condemnation.

The victim, an expatriate from Sudan, expressed the negative impact the prank had on his personal life, family, and community. The incident caused distress and turmoil, highlighting the need for swift legal action against those responsible for such harmful acts.

The Saudi prosecutor general has ordered the arrest of the pranksters and the initiation of necessary legal procedures to bring them to court. Under Saudi Arabia's anti-cybercrime law, the offenders could face up to five years in prison and a fine of up to SR3 million. The consent of the victim to the video's publication does not exempt the perpetrators from legal consequences.
