Abha International Airport has become the first silent airport in Saudi Arabia. Announced on Thursday, the airport has transitioned to a silent environment, eliminating announcements for takeoff, boarding, and last calls.
Silent Airport Concept: This change aims to create a quieter environment by discontinuing voice announcements. Instead, passengers will rely on flight display screens and boarding gate information.
Global Practice: Abha International Airport joins other silent airports worldwide, including Singapore Changi, Zurich, Dubai, Amsterdam, and London City.
Emergency Announcements: While routine announcements are eliminated, a voice call system will be available for emergencies like flight cancellations or delays.
Awareness Campaign: Multilingual information boards and electronic notices will inform travelers about the silent airport concept, ensuring they remain aware of their flight details.
Enhanced Travel Experience: The initiative aims to reduce noise pollution, allowing passengers to enjoy a more peaceful and stress-free travel experience.
