Saudi Arabia's capital city Riyadh hosts Amazon's new corporate office in the Riyadh Front district. As part of this opening, Amazon will also launch an initiative to empower and train Saudi talent.
Amazon's new office in Saudi Arabia will house employees from several areas of the company's Saudi Arabia operations, including e-commerce, smart devices, Amazon Payments Services, Amazon Internet Services, and Amazon Advertising.
- Amazon's new office is located in the tallest building in the area, the Riyadh Front Tower, which provides an ideal work environment for attracting and retaining talent. Amazon has recruited over 1,400 people in Saudi Arabia since its launch in 2020. The new office will help Amazon bring in more local talent and innovate on behalf of its customers.
A vice president at Amazon Middle East and North Africa said, "We are delighted to inaugurate our new office in Saudi Arabia, demonstrating our commitment to serving Amazon customers, vendor partners and employees, as well as supporting the Kingdom's economic and social growth as outlined in Saudi Vision 2030." In addition to e-commerce, smart devices and payment services, we will continue to invest in the Kingdom across a variety of sectors.
Additionally, Amazon will launch a new initiative to train local talent later this year along with the opening of the new office.
Abdo Chlala, Director of Amazon GCC, stated in a statement, "At Amazon, we talk about hiring builders who can help us innovate and invent on behalf of our customers. In addition to welcoming our existing builders, we will be able to attract and develop new talent through our talent program.
Amazon also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in March with the Ministry of Investment and the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority to support SMEs. As a result of the agreement, Amazon will be able to sell its products to millions of customers throughout the Kingdom, as well as help scores of entrepreneurs set up their logistics companies.
