Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism launched on Friday a campaign entitled “Your Future Tourism”, which aims to provide 100,000 jobs for citizens in the tourism sector by the end of 2021, as part of its strategy to develop human capital, and create one million jobs by the end of 2030.
Those interested can apply through the portal (www.hcdp.mt.gov.sa).
The Ministry of Tourism, in cooperation with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf), the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), and a number of partners in the private sector, have prepared the necessary programmes to achieve the goals of developing human capital in the tourism sector.
It aims to develop the capabilities of national cadres through various training and qualification programmes, and providing them with the skills that support them in obtaining the appropriate jobs.
Targeted jobs
The campaign comprises a number of incentives, including an increase in the wage subsidy rate for two years, which will stimulate the private sector with more youthful energies, cover all the needs of the tourism sector and localise the targeted jobs.
In October, the ministry launched a strategy for developing human capital in the tourism sector, which aimed at gradual work on localising jobs in the tourism sector, ensuring the availability of qualified cadres to fill these jobs, and providing the highest standards of quality education.
This is being carried out via relevant local and international education and training institutions, developing national capabilities in the fields of the tourism industry, in line with international standards, and supporting small and medium companies (SMEs) to develop their business and contribute to providing job opportunities to Saudis in a wide range of activities and fields related to the tourism sector.
